Today the Leadership group looked how pride can be useful to a leader and how pride can also sabotage. The students spent time thinking about, and sharing, a variety of things that they can be 'positively proud' about.
Then we had a lot of fun playing 'Alphabet Dancing'. Just telling them the name of this activity provoked a spontaneous outburst of 'YMCA' from many students, which had everyone giggling before we had even begun! The aim of the game is for leaders to direct their teams to spell certain words. A lot of leadership factors came into play as our team leaders found out how much giving clear directions, repeating information, not leaving anyone behind and being able to actually complete the task (spelling correctly), could impact on their team's success.
