Tournament of Minds Underway...

Our two 'TOM' teams have been busy these last few weeks, getting to grips with the intricacies of their challenges and crafting their solutions.  We are continuing to practice our Spontaneous Challenge thinking skills and our drama skills along the way.  There's a lot of fun to be had!  It was great to hear the kids positive reactions about their experiences so far.

TOM PMI - WEEK 3 of Tournament

Positive

Zoe:  The creative process of it - making things, getting the paperwork all done and then moving on to the other stuff
Caleb:  I enjoy that we get to work without adults interfering
Riley:  The collaborative side of it is good because we get to meet new people and we’ve bonded. I didn’t know these guys.
Amelia:  I like when we are writing the script, I like the funny things we come up with.
Hannah:  we get to work on it in the weekends not just in school time
Emma:  I like that we are using everyone’s ideas not just one person’s.  We combine everyone’s ideas together.
Olivia: I like when we are thinking of all the humorous ideas, just randomly saying things that could go into our script.

Minus
Zoe:  there’s a lot more work than was expected
Olivia: I don’t like missing school
Riley:  I don’t like the paperwork and the stress
Harrison: I don’t get time to do the rest of my work
Emma:  We miss out on a lot of school work because most of us have more than one thing on as well. (Production / Mathex)
Indiana - People getting distracted makes it hard

Interesting
Emma:  I didn’t know there were so many things to do and learn
Noah:  We all get along so well
Zoe:  We have so many ideas
Maddi:  The challenges - and how we come up with the ways we can do it all
Riley:  The challenges are really fun
