Welcome back 2021

Hi Everyone and welcome back to Whakaaro for 2021!

It was great to see the students from Te Urungi and Kahurangi this morning.  They were excited to be back together and we were able to talk through some of the initiatives we will be exploring this year.

We had a round of Bingo - seeking others from amongst the Whakaaro tribe who had the same likes and dislikes we did.  There were lots of commonalities although much to Wairangi's distress, no one else in the Navigator Centre cohort is as passionate about rugby as he is - apparently we need some educating! Lol!

We have also begun our work, creating a self portrait using iconography to express who we are and share the things that are important to us.  Over the next few weeks we will build up these collages - I look forward to sharing the final product with you.

Epro8 has returned for 2021 - and the Whakarongo Smarties and The Whakarongo Nuts and Bolts spent time familiarising themselves with the kit again ahead of next weeks competition.  We have four teams entered this year and are waiting with anticipation to see what the new challenge will be when it is realised next Monday.

So as you can see, we are jumping back in with both feet!  It's great to be back with the students again and we have lots of fun things planned.  Dates for your diary include:

  • The Whakaaro Hui. March 2nd 6.45pm - 7.45pm
  • Senior Drama Workshop April 1st 9.30am - 1pm (Please note this is a Teacher Only Day more info to follow).
