Epro8 Challenge - Preparation and Training

This week we have managed to work in our Epro8 Challenge teams to prepare for the competition in Week One of next term.  We have had some great discussion around strategies, expectations and collaborative problem solving.  The teams also had the opportunity to explore some practice challenges.  Today was spent revisiting the electronic circuits kits we practice with, as well as constructing simple machines.  Here are some photos of the weeks work.

 

 

The year 5/6 teams had some time to reflect on their teamwork after their first team challenge situation.  Their observations included;

Aidan:  "You need to communicate with other people to get things done."

Charlotte:  "You should have quite a few people at each station to get things done."

Ruby:  "If your other team mates don't need your help, instead of sitting there you ask what you can 

             do.  You have to share your ideas."

Lejla:  "I learned that you can't just work on one thing by yourself - you all have to work together."

Prya:  "You've got to keep working, no matter what happens you stay calm and keep working."

 

Over the holidays the teams can keep exploring the online electronics simulator.  Looking forward to our heats on the Tuesday and Thursday of Week One, Term Two.
